Northwestern Academy of Homeopathy (NAH) training program thoroughly prepares students for national certification. During the program students receive complete details about preparation for certifications. Answers to general questions about certification are summarized as follows.
All students should take The Council for Homeopathic Certification (CHC) exam upon graduation. This national exam is for all health care providers practicing homeopathy. For more information visit the CHC website at www.homeopathicdirectory.com.
For individuals who have completed the CHC exam process, certification in homeopathy varies depending on your health care training license in another field, or lack thereof. Unlicensed practitioners Individuals without a primary care license can apply to the North American Society of Homeopaths (NASH) for registered membership as a professional homeopath. Credential initials for this designation are RS Hom(NA). For more information visit the NASH website at www.homeopathy.org. Licensed practitioners Individuals who are also an MD or DO should apply to the American Institute of Homeopathy (AIH) for certification. Credential initials for this designation are DHt. Individuals who are also a chiropractor should apply to the National Board on Homeopathic Education (NBHE) for certification. Credential initials for this designation are DNBHE. For more information visit the NBHE website at www.nbhe.org.
